Oswaldtwistle Mills
Culinary Master Class with Philippa James -
Sat 17th April 2010
Oswaldtwistle Mills is hosting a ‘live cooking experience’ that promises to
impress and inspire with Lancashire Life cookery editor, local foodie and recent
judge on Channel 4’s The F Word, Philippa James.
For one day only Oswaldtwistle Mills’s Conference Centre is being transformed
into a kitchen and will be opening its doors to food fanatics keen to learn new
cooking skills, try different foods and get fresh ideas.
Celebrating the best that Lancashire has to offer, Philippa will be performing a
step-by-step cookery demonstration using fresh ingredients sourced locally from
the Oswaldtwistle Mills food hall.
Philippa will be producing up three delectable dishes including; Lancashire
creamy cheese tortilla, scrummy sausage casserole, and rich mushroom stroganoff.
All the ingredients used can be found under Oswaldtwistle Mill’s roof including
cheese from The Crumbly Cheese Deli, sausages from Ye Olde Sausage Shop and wine
from the Rainhall Drinks Company.
Culinary queen Philippa said: “It’s set to be a fantastic day and a perfect
opportunity for passionate foodies to come together and sample three delicious,
homemade meals that are a perfect dish for any night of the week.
“We need to support local produce and buy into ingredients that are available on
our doorstep; the three signature dishes I’ll be cooking have been inspired with
this in mind and there are always lots of clean plates at the end of the
classes!”
There is a choice of two cooking master classes, 10.30am-12.30pm or
2.30pm-4.30pm and both include a hot buffet of the dishes demonstrated, created
by Gourmet Catering with a glass of red or white wine and both Philippa and
Penny Sagar of Rainhall Drinks Company will be on hand to talk all things food
and drink related.
Attendees will also receive a goody bag with Philippa’s recipes and complimentary
Oswaldtwistle Mills discount vouchers to be used in store.
